In France we visited our favorite city of Paris. Other news includes that I, Jo Ann, was elected Co-Chair of the Holladay Arts Council and am very excited with this year's schedule the Council has planned. Please visit our Holladay Arts Facebook page. I am also Chair of the first ever Holladay Farmer's Market (named Holladay Harvest Festival). The Festival will be held 4 Saturdays beginning August 28 from 4-8pm in front of Holladay City Hall. We will have live music and food, produce, and art/craft vendors. We will also offer free children's art activities. Please come and enjoy this free community event.

Creative plans this year include painting our mats in stone or luster stone specialty paint and painting the frame to compliment the photograph and painted mat. We believe the results have turned out great.

A Review of 2009, 2008 and 2007
Written by Jo Ann Merrill

Photo opportunities for 2009 and 2008 included that we were the featured guest artists at the Wheeler Farm Gallery show in Salt Lake City for April and May. I (Jo Ann) was a guest speaker at the Juan Diego Catholic High School re photography in January. We were accepted into this year's Eccles 16th Statewide Photographic Competition Gallery Show that was held February and March at the Eccles Community Art Center in Ogden. Our daughter, Nicole, won Best of Show. We were in some 2008 Christmas boutique shows and went to Germany and Austria this past September and have included some of our favorite photos under the Gallery section entitled Germany and Austria. Please check them out. We were also the guest artists at the Oasis Cafe April 2008 gallery show and also vendors for the Pioneer Art and Craft Market last summer. All of these opportunities turned out to be very successful and rewarding for us.

2008 turned out to be our best year financially and most rewarding all around. I (Jo Ann) was able to quit my full time job and focus more on our photography business. In April we were the guest artists at the Oasis Cafe Gallery Show which was very successful. For the months of June through October we had a very successful and rewarding time at the SL Downtown Alliance Art and Craft market which was held at Pioneer Park every Saturday. In September we visited Germany and Austria which provided some great photo opportunites for us. In November and December we were in several holiday boutiques (Wheeler Farm, Spanish Fork, the Greek Orthodox Church, etc.). All proved to be very fun and rewarding.

In February 2007 we participated in the Kayenta Art Festival in St. George, we were in the SLC Pioneer Park Art and Craft Market and the Park City's Park Silly Sunday Market, and we replenished our framed photography work that sold at the Sundance Resort.  New locations for 2007 and 2008 that we have our work on sale and/or display are at the Gift Emporium Store at This Is The Place Heritage Park, our Middle East photography work is now on display at the West Point Military Academy, our work is for sale and on display at Beyond AV Home Theater store in Olympus Village, the Mill Creek Cafe at 3084 East 3300 South in Salt Lake City, and most recent our work is on display at the Golden Braid Books at 151 South 500 East in Salt Lake City.

Photo trips for 2007 included upstate New York, Mayrland and a trip to France (Verdun, Burgundy, French Riviera, Provence, Carcassonne, Versailles, and Paris).  You can view some of our work from these trips under the Gallery Section of "What's New."
