Latest News: We have been accepted again into this year's SLC Downtown Alliance Art and Craft Market. The market will be held every Saturday from 8:00 am until 1:00pm June 13 through October 17 at Pioneer Park, 300 S. 300 W. We hope you will stop by and visit us at our booth that is located on the northwest corner of the park.
Photo opportunities for 2009 and 2008 included that we were the featured guest artists at the Wheeler Farm Gallery show in Salt Lake City for April and May. I (Jo Ann) was a guest speaker at the Juan Diego Catholic High School re photography in January. We were accepted into this year's Eccles 16th Statewide Photographic Competition Gallery Show that was held February and March at the Eccles Community Art Center in Ogden. Our daughter, Nicole, won Best of Show. We were in some 2008 Christmas boutique shows and went to Germany and Austria this past September and have included some of our favorite photos under the Gallery section entitled Germany and Austria. Please check them out. We were also the guest artists at the Oasis Cafe April 2008 gallery show and also vendors for the Pioneer Art and Craft Market last summer. All of these opportunities turned out to be very successful and rewarding for us.
Photo opportunities in 2009 include visiting France, Belgium, Holland, Jordan, and Israel. Creative plans this year include experimenting with printing larger photographs on specialty papers, clear sealing the photograph or oil rubbing the photo so no glass is required (or you can use glass), faux finishing the mat, and painting the frame to compliment the photograph and mat. We believe the results so far have turned out great.
We use the latest development and technique in digital cameras, printers, scanners, and specialty papers. Some of our work has been enhanced by using medium gels and the use of our own art work (watercolors and sketches) that are scanned in and overlaid on the photographs.
We also replicate/restore faded and torn historical photographs. We can replicate paintings to look like the originals (with written permission by the artist). This procedure works especially well with watercolor paintings because the painting is replicated using the same size and watercolor paper the artist used for his or her masterpiece. It is almost impossible to tell which is the original and which is the reproduction.
Our travels throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East have brought some unusual and splendid photograph opportunities.
